1. Your comfort (if you want to be close to public transport, schools, middle and high schools, local shops, expressways to get to work more quickly… your comfort to make your daily life easier).
2. The location must  fit  your  budget , so find out beforehand to avoid disappointment. This way, you will look at places that perfectly suit your needs.
3. Think about the price you can  get when reselling your property  (always useful to anticipate).

It is therefore wise to choose your location carefully with all its criteria, which can be beneficial later.

2. Find the ideal land

Whether you opt for serviced land or so-called “subdivision” land to build your future home, there is no perfect option. As long as it  meets your needs, your desires, your budgets  and  is compliant and buildable  : you can go for it!

Finding “the ground” is a  long-term job , a bit like the work of a detective who must be  organized  and  methodical . Once you have chosen your land, it will be time to  think about the style  of the house and its  layout .

3. Visualize your home

When you have  answered all the questions  that seem  useful  and  essential to you , it will be  easier to visualize it .

4. Think about your daily life and your future

Indeed, when you decide to build you have to  think about your daily life  so that your future home suits you perfectly. But have you thought about your future?

But you also have to think about the slightly less pleasant effects, such as when you get older or if you get injured  … Having a bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor won’t be too much.

Hence the importance of thinking about everything when you decide to embark on the project of building your own house. It must  correspond to you today,  but also to  who you will be later  !

5. Know your budget

First of all, establish an initial  budget estimate , and what you are willing to invest in this project. Indeed, it is important to know this to avoid unpleasant surprises. This way, you can  choose land  and  houses  that fit your budget .

Tip: As you might expect, obtaining a home loan is not easy. This involves a series of steps that can be long and tedious. Do your best to present an  impeccable file  to your banker, because banks are always just as demanding. To have a better chance of obtaining it, it is advisable  to increase your personal contribution through loans, investments, etc.
